Stadium Group (SDM)
Stadium is a leading provider of design-led integrated electronic technologies to the global electronics market with design and manufacturing operations in the UK and Asia. In July it announced the acquisition of UK power solutions company Stontronics for £6.5m cash, partly funded by a Firm Placing, and a Placing and Open Offer, of a total of 5.45 million shares at 110p. Stadium reported very strong interim results (for the 6 months to 30 June) on the 8th of September. Chief Executive, Charlie Peppiatt, will represent the company.
Motif Bio (MTFB)
Motif is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, which specialises in developing novel antibiotics designed to be effective against serious and life-threatening infections caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria. The company has a lead antibiotic candidate, iclaprim, in clinical development. Motif IPO'd on AIM in April this year, raising £2.8 million at 20p. In June it raised a further £22 million at 50p to help it in its aim of commercialising iclaprim within 36 months of IPO. Graham Lumsden, CEO, will be presenting.
Ilika (IKA)
Ilika is an excellent example of how British university technology can be both commercially successful and thrive in the quoted arena. Spun out of the School of Chemistry at Southampton in 2004, with a later IPO in 2010, Ilika is now globally recognised for the rapid development of novel materials. The Company has made substantial progress this year in scaling up its proprietary solid-state battery technology. This operational progress has gone hand-in-hand with commercial discussions with OEM's and supply chain partners interested in integrating Ilika's battery technology into Internet of Things devices. CEO, Graeme Purdy, will represent the company .
